Why Did Manoj Tiwary Call Gambhir A Hypocrite: Former India Cricketer Manoj Tiwary explained the reasons why he called national cricket team coach Gautam Gambhir a hypocrite.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Tiwary bashed Gambhir for appointing foreign coaches in contradiction to the latter’s own older comment.
Why Did Manoj Tiwary Call Gambhir A Hypocrite
Tiwary cited Gambhir’s older interview in which the Indian head coach slammed foreign coaches over their lack of emotions. But when Gambhir became India’s coach, he asked the BCCI to appoint Ryan ten Doeschate and Morne Morkel as his assistants. Manoj Tiwary exposes this.
“Why did I call him a hypocrite? It is because of one of his interviews if you remember. In one of the interviews, he said, ‘All these foreign coaches, all the guys who come from abroad, have no emotions, they have no feelings. They earn money and enjoy themselves.”
“When the time was there for him to select all the Indian coaches and all the Indian-origin support staff, why did he put forward the names of Ryan ten Doeschate and Morne Morkel? He got everything he wanted but he is not able to produce the results. Actions don’t match his words, so I called him a hypocrite,” he added.
The hilarious thing is that Manoj Tiwary was a part of KKR, which went on to win the IPL trophy in 2012. The team was led by Gambhir, and the winning runs came from the bat of Manoj Tiwary.
Tiwary also slammed Gambhir for a lack of results as India lost 3 series already under him. Among these, the whitewash loss against New Zealand at home was the most battering one among these.
“The results are there to be seen. When you lose three series in your short tenure, you have lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and, most importantly, you lost the home series against New Zealand. It was a big loss, as this had never happened before. A lot of things speak for themselves. Losing to New Zealand in a home series is not acceptable at all.”
“In your short career, you also lost the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Winning and losing are part of the game, but results speak for themselves. You need to look at the reasons behind these losses,” he said.
India will meet England in a limited-over home tour that includes 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is.
