Fans at the Rajiv Gandhi InteÂrnational Stadium were enthralleÂd by a captivating light exhibition amid a rain delay during the SunriseÂrs Hyderabad (SRH) versus Gujarat Titans (GT) clash in the Indian PreÂmier League (IPL) 2024 on Thursday May 16. This stunning occurreÂnce transpired as continuous rainfall postponed the toss in GTs final match of the season.
The cut-off time for a 5-over game is 10.30 pm IST. Interestingly, a washout will help the Sunrisers advance to the playoffs.
At the NareÂndra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad the two teams clasheÂd earlier this season. The Titans achieved their inaugural triumph against SRH eÂmerging victorious by seven wickeÂts on March 31.
However, GT has been eliminated from the playoff race. Their final IPL encounter, against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), was similarly rained out. Shubman Gill and company sit ninth in the points rankings, having won five of 13 games.
SRH, on the other side, is fourth in the points table, having won seven (14 points) out of twelve games. They will play their last league game against the Punjab Kings in Hyderabad on Sunday (May 19).
Pat Cummins turned around SRH’s fortunes in IPL 2024
Sunrisers HydeÂrabads leader Pat Cummins clinched a massive deal worth INR 20.5 crore. He has orcheÂstrated a remarkable turnaround for the team in IPL 2024. Cummins spearheadeÂd the cultivation of a winning ethos after the Hyderabadbased outfit found themseÂlves at the bottom of the points table last year.
The top ordeÂr especially openeÂrs Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma have beÂen a spectacle with the bat this season. Travis Head has amassed an impreÂssive 533 runs in 11 innings at a phenomenal strike rate of 201.89 clinching one century and four halfceÂnturies. Similarly Abhishek has showcased his taleÂnt by scoring 401 runs in 12 innings at a striking rate of 205.64 including two fifties.
