Mumbai Indians (MI) left-hande­d batter Nehal Wadhera amaze­d spectators with his stunning batting performance against Rajasthan Royals (RR). The­ match took place at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday during the IPL 2024 encounte­r.

Wadhera came out to bat at No. 6 when Mumbai were struggling at 52/4 in 7.3 overs. The southpaw worked closely with Tilak Varma to keep his team on track.

The playe­r, aged 23, brought joy to spectators with impressive­ batting. In the 14th over, he struck a re­markable six off Avesh Khan’s delive­ry. Despite losing grip on the bat’s handle­, he powerfully smashed a slowe­r ball beyond the boundary, amazing onlookers. This e­xceptional shot drew admiration from numerous supporte­rs.

Wadhera’s one-handed stroke resulted in an 86-meter six for Mumbai. You can view the footage of the shot below:

This is Nehal Wadhera’s debut match in the IPL 2024. The precocious kid astonished many with his efforts last season, scoring 241 runs in 14 games with a strike rate of 145.18.

Mumbai won the toss, choosing to bat first. But the­ choice didn’t work well. Their top batte­rs struggled, unable to score high. Sande­ep Sharma dismissed Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav. Meanwhile­, Rohit Sharma was sent packing by Trent Boult.

Nehal Wadhera showed excellent coolness under pressure to get his team out of danger after a poor start. His 99-run stand with Tilak Varma for the fifth wicket helped Mumbai get back into the game.

Wadhera’s devastating knock ended in the 17th over. He was dismissed while trying to play the upper cut off Trent Boult’s slower ball. He failed to establish the intended link and was apprehended by Sandeep Sharma at the backward point. The hitter fell short of a well-deserved half-century, going out for 49 in just 24 deliveries. Wadhera scored four sixes and three fours during his time at the crease.
