Mohammed Siraj received the best fielder award from renowned all-rounder Yuvraj Singh on Wednesday, June 12, for his outstanding catches in India’s 2024 T20 World Cup match against co-hosts USA in New York. In the 15th over, the speedster turned heads with a diving catch to eliminate Nitish Kumar off Arshdeep Singh. He also caught USA captain Aaron Jones’ catch during the game.
Mohammed Siraj outshined wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav to seize the prestigious best fielder award. Yuvraj Singh the ICC’s Global Ambassador for the 2024 T20 World Cup made a special appearance in the Indian dressing room to present the coveted award. Praiseworthy of the teams remarkable feat advancing to the Super Eight with a hattrick of victories in the grand ICC event the twotime World Cup champion congratulated them. Expressing gratitude Indias head coach Rahul Dravid conveyed his thanks to Yuvraj for his unwavering support.

Mohammed Siraj was ecstatic to have earned the fielding medal. Meanwhile, fielding coach T Dilip praised Mohammed Siraj’s efforts despite being a quick bowler.

Mohammed Siraj had also earned the fielding medal during India’s first match against Ireland. Rishabh Pant won it after the second game between India and Pakistan.
Rohit Sharma Reflects on India’s Triumph in Challenging Conditions at 2024 T20 World Cup in New York

India captain Rohit Sharma expressed thanks after the Men in Blue won their first three games on the difficult ground in New York. Rohit praised Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube for finishing the game despite losing early wickets.
The 37-year-old singled out Arshdeep Singh for the greatest T20 World Cup stats (4-9) ever recorded by an Indian. He stated in his post-match remarks:
“It is a big relief, playing cricket here wasn’t easy. We had to stick through till the end in all 3 games. Will take a lot of confidence from these wins.”“(On bowlers) We knew bowlers had to take the lead, run scoring was difficult. All the bowlers did the job, particularly Arshdeep. (On chase) Knew it would be tough. Credit to us for the way we held our nerve and got that partnership. Credit to Surya and Dube for showing the maturity and taking us through.”
