Sanjiv Goenka the owner of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) gave a round of applause to captain KL Rahul for his remarkable catch that dismissed Shai Hope during the delightful showdown with Delhi Capitals (DC) at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday (May 14). Shai Hopes departure after scoring 38 runs from 27 balls featuring two sixes and three boundaries marked a crucial moment in the game. LSGs action dismantled the resilient 92run partnership between Hope and Abishek Porel for the second wicket.
The dismissal occurred in the ninth over of DC’s innings. Ravi Bishnoi bowled a flat delivery outside off, which Hope played straight to cover. KL Rahul made the catch on the second try after the ball slipped out of his grasp on the first. Goenka and the supporters applauded KL Rahul.

Following the event, Goenka faced backlash on social media, with many speculating that Rahul will depart the team next season.

LSG scored twice to come back against DC in the IPL encounter on Tuesday. Ravi Bishnoi and Naveen-ul-Haq fired Shai Hope and Abishek Porel, respectively. Porel, on the other hand, scored 58 runs off 33 deliveries, including four sixes and five boundaries.
The Capitals were 132/3 after 14 overs, with skipper Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs at the crease.
The Supergiants experienced setbacks against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their recent outings. With 12 points from as many games KL Rahul team faces a crucial juncture needing victories in their final two matches to sustain their playoff ambitions.
DC conversely currently holds 12 points from 13 matches and may potentially secure up to 14 points should they emerge victorious against LSG once more in this seasons rematch. Their pathway to the playoffs is contingent on the outcomes of other matches.
