Team India captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed cheaply in the ongoing Super 8 match against Afghanistan in Bridgetown, Barbados, as left-arm seamer Fazalhaq Farooqi made the breakthrough. On Thursday, June 20, the right-handed batter went for eight runs, his second consecutive single-figure total in this year’s competition.
The dismissal occurred in the third over of the innings, when Farooqi came on for his second over after giving only a few runs in his first.
The youngster’s slower delivery gripped the surface as he attempted to go past mid-on. All the seasoned opener had to do was handle the toe-end of the bat, and Rashid Khan took a straightforward catch to send his opposing number packing.

India enters this match after victories over Ireland, Pakistan, and the United States, all of which were won reasonably convincingly on New York’s tough surfaces. Their match versus Canada in Lauderhill, Florida, was rained out owing to a damp outfield.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan remained unbeaten until they faced co-hosts West Indies, who defeated them by 104 runs. Afghanistan has not beaten India in any format yet.
