Wasim Jaffer, a former Indian batter, used a well-known scene from the highly anticipated film Baahubali to explain MS Dhoni’s role in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team following his resignation as captain.
Unexpectedly, on Thursday, March 21, Ruturaj Gaikwad participated in the captain’s picture for CSK. Gaikwad was subsequently named the new captain of the Chennai Super Kings, according to the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) official X account. CSK issued an official statement to confirm the adjustment as well.

In the 2023 season, the Chennai Super Kings achieved an unprecedented record-tying fifth IPL victory under MS Dhoni’s leadership. In relation to Gaikwad, he had a significant role in CSK’s victories in the 2021 and 2023 IPLs. After scoring 635 runs in 16 games at an average of 45.36 and a strike rate of 136.27, the opening hitter took home the Orange Cap in 2021.
He scored 590 runs in 16 games with a strike rate of 147.50 and an average of 42.14 last year. The 27-year-old has participated in 52 IPL games overall, amassing 1,797 runs at a 39.07 average, 135.52 strike rate, and 14 hundreds.
