Team India batter Virat Kohli praised the young squad that clinched the Test series versus England after trailing 0-1. The Men in Blue battled to etch a five-wicket triumph in Ranchi on Day 4, claiming an unbeatable 3-1 advantage in the five-match affair.
England were strong favourites after scoring a competitive score in the first innings and reducing India to 177/7 at one point. However, Dhruv Jurel’s battling knock reduced the visitors’ lead to a mere margin.

Even in the second innings, India shown their battling spirit, first by inducing a collapse to bowl out England from 110/3 to 145 all out, and then with the bat to chase down the 192-run mark.
Virat Kohli tweeted shortly after Team India finished the match in Ranchi, ensuring that their 12-year record of home series victories continued.
“YES!!! Phenomenal series win by our young team. Showed grit, determination and resilience.”

Dhruv Jurel was named player of the match for his significant efforts throughout both innings of the Test match.

“I play according to the demands of the situation. The 1st innings, we needed to get runs as well, we knew we had to bat last and so any runs would be vital. I was involved in some partnerships, so credit does go to all those who stayed and added runs. I just saw the ball and then reacted to it, not thinking too far ahead.”

Team India aims to garner more points in the World Test Championship, wrapping up the five-match series against England. They meet in the final Test beginning March 7th in Dharamshala. While seeking to clinch the series, India has sights set on adding to their WTC tally.
Virat Kohli’s personal reasons keep him out of England series

Virat Kohli’s absence glaringly stood out in this competitive, memorable series. Originally named in the squad and joining teammates in Hyderabad before the opener, Kohli withdrew that very day, not partaking at all.
While there were many rumors regarding his extended absence, they were immediately dispelled when the athlete announced the birth of his second kid, Akaay.
Virat Kohli will likely play again for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). The league starts on March 22.
