After the 2023 World Cup final between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, Team India batter Virat Kohli gave Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell his shirt.
The Pat Cummins-led Australian squad stopped India’s juggernaut in the showcase event. The Men in Blue suffered their first defeat of the competition, falling to a crushing six-wicket defeat to finish second.
Kohli and Maxwell were spotted enjoying a passionate hug after the 2023 World Cup final. Off the field, the two have a fantastic friendship thanks to their experience with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL.
Kohli was also pictured presenting his Team India World Cup shirt to Glenn Maxwell.
In the final, Virat Kohli scored 54 runs off 63 balls. After being assigned to bat first, India failed to record a massive score, being bundled out for 240.
Australia easily knocked down the score in 43 overs with six wickets in hand to win their sixth World Cup. With a 137-run knock, Travis Head stole the show in the run chase.

At the just ended 2023 World Cup, Virat Kohli was on a roll. The veteran outfielder emerged as the best hitter, scoring 765 runs in 11 innings at an average of 95.62.
In a remarkable achievement, he exceeded Sachin Tendulkar by reaching a milestone of 50 centuries in One Day International matches. Additionally, Kohli shattered Tendulkar’s record for the most runs scored in a single edition of the ODI World Cup, accumulating an exceptional 700+ runs.
In the competition, the Player of the Tournament award went to the former India captain. This honor was well-deserved due to his impressive batting skills. It’s worth mentioning that Kohli achieved a milestone of scoring more than 50 runs in nine out of eleven innings.
