The captain of Team India, Virat Kohli, recently signed an Indian white-ball format shirt and spoke with a fan in South Africa. With the Team India group, Kohli is now in the African nation ahead of the two-match Test series.
Earlier this week, the Proteas squad triumphed in the Boxing Day Test. They clinched victory by an innings and 32 runs, thus securing a 1-0 series lead. Regarding individual performances, Virat Kohli showcased steady batting. He chalked up 38 (64) and 76 (82) during the match.

In the batting department, he and KL Rahul were the only performers for the visiting team; everyone else performed appallingly in the test conditions. When the second Test in Cape Town begins on January 3, they will be looking to better their results.
Virat Kohli’s off-field habits were glimpsed by a fan who shared a video on X. The video shows Kohli signing a shirt for a fan in South Africa.

“There is no comparison between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma”- Subramaniam Badrinath

The ex-Indian cricketer, Subramaniam Badrinath, spoke out about Rohit Sharma’s Test cricket abilities. He took issue with Sharma’s role and leading abilities after an unsuccessful game against South Africa at the Centurion Test.
Because of his stellar past performance, he believed that Virat Kohli still deserved to be the captain and is the greatest batsman in the team. Badrinath supported Virat Kohli in a video posted on his YouTube channel, saying:
“Kohli has a great record as a test leader. He has scored more than 5000 runs with an average of 52 as a captain. He has 40 wins and 17 losses in 68 tests. He led us to a tremendous victory in the Australia series. He has the most wins as Test captain after Graeme Smith, Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh.”

Badrinath questioned the BCCI’s and the selectors’ choice to award Rohit Sharma the Test captaincy, adding:
“Why is he (Virat) not the captain of the Test team? I want to raise this valid question. He is a better test batter. There is no comparison between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He is a big player in terms of Test cricket. He has scored runs everywhere.
“Why is he not leading and a weaker player? As far as I am concerned, a weaker player who is not yet proven as an opener. He has been in and out. We can consider all of that. But I think Rohit Sharma has not proven himself as an opener outside India. Why is he there?”

Subramaniam Badrinath participated in two Test matches for India in 2010. These matches were against South Africa. He made a total of 63 runs, averaging 21 runs per match.
