A pair of Team India’s hitters had a solid practice session recently in Lucknow before their much-anticipated 2023 World Cup match against England. The match is set to take place on Sunday, October 27, at the esteemed Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
The Men in Blue are rocking this tournament. They’ve won all five of their matches and currently have a solid 10 points on the scoreboard. That puts them in a pretty cozy spot at the top of the leaderboard. And get this, they’re also the only team that hasn’t been defeated yet in the 2023 World Cup. Talk about performance, right?
The BCCI used to their official Instagram account to share a video of Indian players practicing. Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, and others may be seen bowling to other hitters in the nets.

Wasim Akram lauds India’s World Cup squad, believes they can cope without Pandya
Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram recently stated that the Indian squad appears to be formidable even without their star all-rounder Hardik Pandya. He told them not to hurry Pandya back into the squad and to give him enough time to recover.
Wasim Akram stated exclusively to Sportskeeda:
“This squad looks good even without Pandya. If he is fit then well and good. It will be difficult to drop Shami now. I feel India shouldn’t risk Pandya because if it’s an injury to a hamstring or quad, then although you feel good initially, you could pull a muscle in the match. So let him recover 100 percent and then you can play him.”

Wasim Akram praised India’s team management for their efforts behind the scenes during the World Cup, saying:
“Credit to the team management that whenever any player in the squad comes into the XI, he seems ready. When Shami’s ball hits the seam, it can deviate either way. That’s why I think Shami for me was the player of the match.”
