After the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) lost to the Gujarat Titans on Saturday in IPL 2023 from a strong position at Ekan Stadium, former Indian paceman Venkatesh Prasad has been harsh on the LSG. The 53-year-old emphasized that such losses call for some perplexing batting. KL Rahul’s fifty helped the Super Giants, who were chasing 136, to a comfortable victory. Few people expected them to lose the game by a score of 106-2. However, the Super Giants lost four wickets when it came down to 12 in the final over. The former Indian cricketer commented on his own Twitter account that the Gujarat Titans played brilliant cricket, whereas the Super Giants played brainless cricket.
Rahul was dismissed for 68 runs in the first ball of Mohit Sharma’s final over, while Marcus Stoinis was bowled the very next ball. Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni were the other two to lose through run-out.
As the opener went through a horrific series during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2022–23, Venkatesh Prasad had previously targeted Rahul.
Half-century from Hardik Pandya helped GT defeat LSG
Hardik Pandya managed to keep the innings together despite his side’s repeated wicket losses after winning the toss and choosing to bat first on a difficult pitch. Only Captain and Wriddhiman Saha went above 30 for the Titans. Pandya, who hit 66 off 50 balls, contributed to the Titans scoring 135 runs by hitting four maximums and two fours. Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis both claimed two victims, while Naveen-ul-Haq recorded statistics of 4-0-19-1. The Super Giants still hold the second slot in the standings despite the defeat.
