Michael Vaughan, a former England captain, has continued to insult Mohammed Hafeez on social media. Vaughan tweeted an old film of the great Indian cricketer cleaning up the Pakistan all-rounder after disputing Hafeez’s criticism of Virat Kohli.
Hafeez recently made news when he called Kohli selfish for taking a single to complete his 49th ODI ton during the 2023 World Cup match against South Africa on November 5 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Vaughan responded to Hafeez’s criticism of Virat Kohli by sharing a photo of the Indian cricketer celebrating the former Pakistan batter’s wicket after dismissing him for 15 during the 2012 T20 World Cup match in Colombo.
On Thursday, he dug out the video of the aforementioned firing and published it on his X account:
Virat Kohli was named Player of the Match in the 2012 T20 World Cup match against archrival Pakistan in Colombo. India batted first and limited Pakistan to 128. Kohli bowled three overs and had a strike rate of 1/21. He pushed over Hafeez, who created room and attempted, but failed, to direct a ball on the leg stump towards the offside.
Chasing 129, Virat Kohli led another successful chase, finishing undefeated on 78 off 61 balls, a brilliant effort that included eight fours and two sixes. The Men in Blue finished with eight wickets in hand in 17 overs.
What Hafeez said about Virat Kohli’s 2023 World Cup hundred against South Africa
In a popular social media video, Hafeez was heard suggesting that Virat Kohli did not put his team first, but instead demonstrated selfishness by taking a single to get a century against South Africa.
Virat Kohli hit an unbeaten 101 off 121 balls in India’s World Cup match against South Africa in Kolkata, helping the team to a 326/5 total. In response, the Proteas were bowled out for 83 in 27.1 overs.
