A funny post was made on X by Varun Chakravarthy who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as an off-spinner. He joked about all the high scores in IPL matches recently. There are so many fours and sixes hit that it seems like fun and games. Batters are smashing the ball all over the park with ease.

During the IPL 2024 encounter between the SunRisers Hyderabad and the Delhi Capitals in Delhi, SRH scored an incredible 125 runs in the first six overs, shattering the powerplay record.

Varun Chakravarthy took to X (previously Twitter) to voice his worry for the cheerleaders, who had to dance after every four and six hits. He wrote:

“#SRHvsDC Give a break for the cheer leaders yaar… They are dancing nonstop for 6 overs!!!!???????????? #ipl #poorbowlers”

Chakravarthy was asked about his role at the after-match presentation ceremony between KKR and DC on Monday. Here’s how he responded hilariously:

“That (high scores) fortunately or unfortunately has become the trend this year. I think they (cheerleaders) should dance only for the sixes, not for the fours (laughs).”

KKR scored 261 in their IPL 2024 encounter against the Punjab Kings, who comfortably chased it down, highlighting how difficult the season has been for bowlers.

Varun Chakravarthy’s bowling assured that DC will not be able to score many runs against KKR. He had outstanding scores of 3-16 and helped Kolkata restrict the Capitals to 153-9.

Here is what Chakravarthy had to say about his match against Rishabh Pant and the surface:

“It was definitely holding a bit and as the game progressed it was turning more also.

“The first ball today (against Pant) when the catch was dropped, I thought it was a better ball and the ball that go him, in any other ground that might have gone for a six so cricket has become a game of slight margins I feel depends on the pitch too.”
