The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted a frightening total of 208/7 in the first innings of the third IPL 2024 match against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Eden Gardens on Saturday, March 23rd.
SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bowl first on a good batting surface. Kolkata Knight Riders top order folded cheaply, leaving them at 51/4 after 7.3 overs.
Opener Phil Salt (54) held one end up and attempted to steady matters by forming a combination with Ramandeep Singh (35). While Salt was cautious and aggressive, Ramandeep attacked the bowlers and put energy into the innings after a slow start.

Rinku Singh played second fiddle to him, scoring 23 runs. T Natarajan was the standout of the SRH bowlers, taking three wickets.

“It’s funny how this game works, isn’t it? Really pleased to be part of the franchise and hopefully we have enough runs on the board. It was little bit sticky with the new ball, has been like that in the practise matches and it comes off well as the ball gets old.”
