Tom Moody has stated that Virat Kohli alone cannot lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to the IPL 2024 title.
The team from Bengaluru did not make it to the next round in IPL 2023. They counted on Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell too much for scoring runs. Their bowlers also sometimes did not do well.
Moody stated on the Star Sports show ‘Game Plan’ that Kohli will flourish with the bat in the IPL 2024. However, he stated that the former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain cannot win the title alone.
The former Australian all-rounder added:
Du Plessis (730), Kohli (639) and Maxwell (400) were the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s top three run scorers in the IPL 2023. Dinesh Karthik (140) and Mahipal Lomror (135) were the only other three-time finals to score more than 100 runs.
RCB’s bowling woes worry Tom Moody ahead of IPL 2024\
Tom Moody recognized that Cameron Green’s acquisition will improve the Royal Challengers Bangalore batting. However, he stated that he is more concerned about their bowling.
Mohammed Siraj led the team in wickets. The loss of Wanindu Hasaranga, Josh Hazlewood and Harshal Patel may hurt their bowling.
They bought Alzarri Joseph, Lockie Ferguson and Tom Curran to strengthen their seam bowling, but spin bowling may be their weakness.
