The Rajasthan Royals, who won the inaugural Indian Premier League, have had a setback before this season’s tournament. Indian fast bowler, Prasidh Krishna, has been ruled out due to a lumbar stress fracture, and he has already had surgery and is expected to be absent for at least six months. He was the leader of the Royals’ pace bowling last season, taking 19 wickets in 17 matches.
A replacement is yet to be named; however, here is a list of three Indian fast bowlers who could help fill the gap for the Rajasthan Royals in IPL
1. Chintan Gaja
Gaja has been an outstanding bowler for Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy, taking 29 wickets in 7 matches. His impressive performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy was undeniable, claiming 15 wickets in 7 matches with an economical rate of 4.21. His brilliance in the domestic cricket scene makes him a viable replacement for Prasidh Krishna in the Rajasthan Royals.
2. Vijaykumar Vyshak
Vijaykumar Vyshak is a right-arm medium-pace bowler from Karnataka who has shown a remarkable performance in the current edition of the Ranji Trophy. Across 8 matches, he yielded 31 dismissals to Karnataka while registering impressive figures of 15 scalps at a commendable economy rate of 6.31 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. Working with Rajasthan’s bowling coach Lasith Malinga, there is more than enough space for the young player to be successful in the game. Moreover, his addition to the Royals squad will likely provide more depth as he could fill in for Prasidh Krishna.
3. Sandeep Sharma
Sandeep Sharma has a wealth of experience in the IPL, having taken 114 wickets in 104 matches. He is known for his ability to swing the ball and take wickets during the powerplay. His vast repertoire of experience would be a valuable asset to Rajasthan’s bowling attack and is worthy of serious consideration. Besides the three bowlers mentioned here, the Royals might consider adding Varun Aaron and Ankit Rajpoot. Please leave us your thoughts in the comments section.
