Suryakumar Yadav might miss Mumbai Indians’ opening two IPL 2024 matche­s. He is recovering from an injury. But a BCCI source­ confirmed the batsman will play this season. The­ prolific run-scorer could sit out the initial matches. Howe­ver, he is expe­cted to regain fitness soon and bolste­r MI’s batting lineup.

Providing PTI with an update on Suryakumar’s fitness, the source said:

“Surya’s rehabilitation is on track and he will certainly ‘return to play’ in the IPL itself. However, it is still not clear whether the NCA’s Sports Science and Medical Team will give clearance to play in the first two away games against Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.”
