Suryakumar Yadav, a star batsman in the middle order for the Mumbai Indians (MI), addressed his fans after the Mumbai Indians’ match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Saturday, April 22.
Suryakumar Yadav played brilliantly, scoring his fastest IPL half-century in only 23 balls in a difficult-to-look chase of 215 runs. However, his valiant effort and 57 runs off 26 balls weren’t enough to save MI from losing by 13 runs. Thanks to a magnificent effort by PBKS fast bowler Arshdeep Singh in the final overs of the match, the MI batters were unable to score enough runs to win.
Over the past several months, Suryakumar has had trouble scoring runs and was dismissed for a duck on several occasions previously. However, his first half-century of the season last night, overcoming a downturn and getting back into his usual run-scoring form will boost his confidence.
Suryakumar Yadav’s meet and greet
A video of Surya’s post-game meet-and-greet with fans was posted on MI’s official Instagram account. MI captioned the post, “सूर्या दादा, he always makes time for his fans. Always. #MumbaiMeriJaan #MumbaiIndians #TATAIPL #IPL2023 @surya_14kumar.”
MI has played six matches, won 3 games, and lost three in IPL 2023. They have only 6 points, placing them in 7th place in the standings.
