In a recent Instagram conversation, India’s energetic player Suryakumar Yadav and Afghanistan’s famous leg spinner Rashid Khan shared a moment.
Rashid Khan, healing from a minor back operation, posted a video. It was his net session. His caption read:
“I’ve missed you ❤️.”
In his post remark, Suryakumar Yadav expressed his loss for Rashid. In response, the famous cricket player from Afghanistan stated that he was going to see Suryakumar.
This month, Afghanistan will visit India for a trio of T20I games. An injury from the South Africa series prevents Suryakumar Yadav from joining this series.
Although Rashid, Afghanistan’s T20I captain, is on the team, we don’t expect him to play in any games. Instead, Ibrahim Zadran will captain the visiting team.
India and Afghanistan are gearing up for a three-game T20I series. The first match is on Thursday, January 11, at Mohali’s Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium. The next two games? They’ll be at Indore’s Holkar Cricket Stadium (January 14) and Bengaluru’s M.Chinnaswamy Stadium (January 17).
Suryakumar Yadav likely to undergo surgery for sports hernia
Last December, during the final India vs. South Africa T20I, Suryakumar Yadav hurt his ankle. On top of that, this dynamic batsman is grappling with a sports hernia. It’s probable he’ll need an operation to treat it.
The medical staff at BCCI is keeping an eye on him right now, and he could be moved overseas for more care. An update on the top-ranked T20I batter was sent to the Indian Express by an Indian board source.
“In Yadav’s case he will take more time than expected. After his hernia operation, it might take up to eight-nine weeks for him to start training. Hopefully, he will be fit during the IPL.”
Suryakumar Yadav might return in the soon-to-occur 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The Mumbai Indians (MI) kept him for the coming season.
