Sunil Gavaskar praised Shubman Gill after he scored his third century of the present IPL 2023 season in Qualifier 2 on Friday, May 26. The Indian veteran praised the kid, saying that the ‘sky is the limit’ for him with the manner he is hitting.
Gill hit 129 off 60 balls in IPL 2023 Qualifier 2 against Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After being assigned to bat, the right-handed batsman hit 7 fours and 10 sixes as GT tallied 233/3. In response, MI were bowled out for 171, confirming Gujarat’s place in the IPL 2023 final.
Gavaskar claimed that he was out of adjectives to praise Shubman Gill’s brilliance.
The 73 year old noted that if Shubman Gill continues to dedicate himself as he has in the previous year or two, his strong form would most likely continue due to the ‘correctness’ of his technique. Gavaskar went on to say:
Shubman Gill had a 54-run first wicket partnership with Wriddhiman Saha (18) in the encounter against MI on Friday. He then batted alongside Sai Sudharsan (43 off 31) for 138 runs for the second wicket.
