A famous cricket player Sunil Gavaskar criticized Virat Kohli and the TV commentators. Virat Kohli plays for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team. Kohli was angry that commentators kept complaining about his batting speed. His batting speed was too slow in the middle part of the match. Kohli told the commentators to stop talking about his batting speed.
Virat Kohli targeted the spinners and struck an unbeaten 70 runs off 44 deliveries in an away match against the Gujarat Titans. During a post-match interview, Kohli stated that ‘those in the box’ were not at liberty to discuss his strike rate because they had not experienced the conditions on the field.

In response, Sunil Gavaskar argued that the pundits bring up those stats for a purpose, citing Kohli’s slow half-century against the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), in which he made 51 runs off 43 runs at a strike rate of 118.60.
“The commentators question only when the strike rate was 118. I don’t know what the other commentators have said otherwise, but if you have a strike rate of 118 from the first ball and then you get out in the 14th or the 15th over, I mean if you want applause for that, then that is a little bit different.”

Sunil Gavaskar Slams Broadcasters for Overplaying Kohli’s Controversial Comments
Sunil Gavaskar also talked against TV stations for showing that post-game talk many times. He said they did it to get more people to watch. He thought this was wrong.
He was disappointed with how the broadcasters covered the entire event, including the conflict between Kohli and the commentators.
“That particular post-game interview has been shown on this channel earlier as well, and right now on this particular program since 6 o’clock, it has been shown probably a half a dozen times. I hope that they recognize this, that when that is being shown, the critics are commentators. I think they have shown it enough times, everyone has got the message.”

Kohli’s strike rate will once again go under the radar as he prepares for round 2 against GT’s spin combo of Noor Ahmed and Rashid Khan.
