Virat’s performance in both one-day and Twenty20 internationals has seen a significant uptick as of late, and it’s easy to see why. Even though Kohli has not yet found his rhythm in Tests, he is on pace to become the first batsman in the history of one-day internationals to achieve 50 hundred. Since November 2019, he has not scored a century in any of the formats of cricket that are played for lengthier periods.
Virat has faced Australia in a total of 20 matches, scoring an average of 48.05 runs per game during his career against them. This amounts to a total of 1682 runs. As it progresses, it covers a period that spans seven centuries. Nevertheless, it is troubling to observe how poorly Virat has played against spin bowlers in the most recent matches, and this is something that needs to be addressed.
Irfan Pathan is yet another individual who has shown worry on this matter. According to him, Kohli has expressed interest in modifying his strategy for facing spin bowlers during the next Border-Gavaskar Test series. Kohli is interested in making some adjustments to his strategy. During an interview that was later played on a sports radio programme, a portion of this topic was brought up for discussion.
Irfan commented, “So, one thing he will keep in his mind is that he is going to face Lyon as well as Agar’s spin. Because he is struggling especially against spin and I think that’s one thing What he can do personally is try and be a bit more aggressive, because I think his strike rate against spin has gone down as well.”
Irfan Pathan continued by saying, “I know we are talking about Test cricket here but sometimes he should be a little more aggressive against spin, it can make you better in that match when you are really Nathan Facing guys like Lyon who brings his spin, extra bounce and he takes the ball away from right-handed batsmen as well. So, I think he should keep that in mind.“
