Sourav Ganguly chimed in, thinking both Rohit and Kohli deserved spots on India’s 2024 World Cup team.
In response to a question concerning the prominent players rejoining the Indian T20 squad following a protracted hiatus, he said:
The former captain of India also conveyed his satisfaction with the way the squad performed during the just finished South Africa trip.
Sourav Ganguly praised the side and said:
India produced a great comeback to upset the Proteas by seven wickets in Cape Town, tying the series 1-1, following their loss over them by an innings and 32 runs in the first Test in Centurion.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return to T20I squad, but Rahul misses out
KL Rahul, another experienced hitter, is not included in the T20I return that Rohit and Kohli have been accorded for the series against Afghanistan.
Ishan Kishan has also been excluded, and the selectors have chosen Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma as their two keeping alternatives.
