Sourav Ganguly, director of cricket for the Delhi Capitals (DC), has expressed amazement at the gains wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has made after his recovery from a traumatic vehicle accident in December 2022.
Rishabh Pant didn’t play last IPL season. But he’s back this time! Fans are excited to see him. Pant is only 26 years old. He’ll captain Delhi Capitals again. The cricketing world is happy he’s returning.
Ganguly was cited as saying by the Times of India:
“I’m looking forward to watching Rishabh Pant during the tournament” – Sourav Ganguly
Pant last appeared in action in December 2022, during India’s second Test against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. The southpaw scored 93 and 9 in both innings of the Test, which India won by three wickets to finish the series 2-0.
Sourav Ganguly heaped compliments on Pant and stated that he is looking forward to seeing the keeper-batsman in action in the 2024 IPL.
On Saturday, March 22, the Delhi Capitals will face the Punjab Kings away at the newly built Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur to kick off their 2024 IPL season.
