According to Simon Doull, the Hardik and Krunal Pandya were able to develop as leaders after being released from the Mumbai Indians (MI) and signed by the Gujarat Titians (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), respectively.
During an interview with the media, veteran New Zealand cricketer Doull praised Hardik’s performance for the Gujarat team in the IPL. He said that Lucknow encouraging Krunal to a leadership role has also boosted his performance on the pitch.
Hardik and Krunal were released before 2021 mega auction
The Mumbai franchise released the Pandya brothers before the IPL 2021 mega auction. As a result, GT made Hardik the team’s captain. GT’s first season under the new captain and his strategy has resulted in a championship title.
At the IPL 2021 mega auction, LSG spent 8.25 crore for Krunal Pandya, who was then named vice-captain of the franchise heading into the IPL 2022 season.
Simon Doull Comments on the GT vs LSG match
Simon added that GT, who scored a subpar 135 runs against LSG in their previous match, might have been astonished to find themselves on the winning side.
While Hardik Pandya’s team won a seven-run victory, Simon pointed out that GT has been tested in their past two IPL 2023 matches. But he emphasized that the GT think tank has maintained its composure no matter the conclusion.
On Tuesday, April 25, the reigning champion Gujarat Titans (GT) will play against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
