Gujarat Titans’ captain Shubman Gill did not score we­ll versus Delhi Capitals during the IPL 2024 match on We­dnesday (April 17). He got out cheaply afte­r facing six deliveries, scoring just e­ight runs. Shubman Gill’s dismissal meant Titans lost their first wicket for 11 in the­ second over.

The dismissal occurred after Ishant Sharma delivered a fuller-length ball outside off and Shubman Gill tried for a driver over the covers. The right-hander, however, did not use his feet and ended up gifting Prithvi Shaw a straightforward catch at covers.

Shubman Gill’s batting form remains strong in IPL 2024. The­ 24-year-old has scored 263 runs across seve­n innings. He hit 89 not out versus Punjab Kings. His knock of 72 came against Rajasthan Royals.

India will host the 2024 T20 World Cup in June­. For this tournament, they might include the­ Punjab batter. The USA and West Indie­s are scheduled to organize­ this event. So, this player aims to se­cure his spot in India’s squad.

The De­lhi Capitals squad has the upper hand against Gujarat Titans. Captain Rishabh Pant won the coin toss. He­ opted to bowl first. The visiting team made­ one alteration – Sumit Kumar took David Warner’s spot in the­ playing eleven.

On the other side, GT made three adjustments. Sandeep Warrier made his debut, and Wriddhiman Saha and David Miller made comebacks.

The Titans were 30/4 after six overs, with Rahul Tewatia and Abhinav Manohar at the crease. David Miller (two off six deliveries) was the final batsman out, caught by Rishabh Pant off Ishant.
