Dhruv Jurel and Shubman Gill responded to the occasion, masterfully finishing the chase to win India’s fourth Test against England in Ranchi on Monday (February 26). With the win, India established a commanding 3-1 lead in the five-match series.
India got off to a terrific start in their pursuit of 192, with Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal combining for an 84-run opening partnership. However, Jaiswal’s exit in the 18th over provided an opportunity for England to mount a comeback. They made excellent most of it, taking five wickets in rapid succession to reduce India to 120/5.
Dhruv Jurel (39) stepped in at this point and shown a fantastic temperament to absorb the load. He rotated the attack brilliantly, finding holes on a regular basis in the presence of Shubman Gill (52), to help India get back into the game.
Gill ramped up the tempo later and struck a couple of sixes to reach his half-century. Jurel finally completed the match on the 61st over.
