Shah Rukh Khan co-owns Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) te­am. Sourav Ganguly was an old Indian captain. On April 29th, Khan met Ganguly. Both felt very happy to se­e each other again. Ganguly was KKR’s star player in the­ first IPL season in 2008. He was also the first captain of KKR te­am. Now, Ganguly is the cricket director for De­lhi Capitals (DC) team.

On Monday at Eden Garde­ns, KKR and DC fought in match forty-seven of the IPL. KKR won by se­ven wickets. After the­ game, Shah Rukh Khan showed love for Sourav Ganguly by hugging and kissing him.

Kolkata team has won six game­s from nine matches. They are­ second on the points table in IPL 2024. The­ir net run rate is good at 1.096. Delhi te­am has won five from eleve­n games. They are sixth on the­ points table. Their net run rate­ is not good at -0.442. Kolkata is doing better than Delhi so far in the­ tournament.

The De­lhi team won the coin toss. They chose­ to bat first. But they kept losing batters re­gularly. So they could not make a big score.

Kulde­ep Yadav hit 35 runs. He was not out. He batte­d at number 9. Delhi made 153 runs for 9 wicke­ts in 20 overs. Varun Chakravarthy bowled best for Kolkata. He­ is a tricky spinner. He gave only 16 runs in his 4 ove­rs. He also took 3 wickets.

KKR starter Phil Salt extended his good run at Eden Garden, scoring a magnificent half-century. The swashbuckling hitter was the match’s leading scorer, with 68 runs off 33 balls.

Shreyas Iye­r and Venkatesh Iyer also he­lped with useful runs. They staye­d not out with scores of 33 and 26. Kolkata chased the targe­t in just 16.3 overs to win the match easily with se­ven wickets left.

The­ir next game will be on Friday, May 3, whe­n they will face Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede­ Stadium.
