Virender Sehwag, a former Indian opener, has come forth to say that he did not expect Virat Kohli to have such enormous success in international cricket. He claimed that when Kohli first made the Indian squad, everyone knew he was talented. But Sehwag said he didn’t think the top hitter would hit 70 or more hundred. Sehwag conceded that Kohli had disproved him with his steady play throughout the years. It was on the set of “The Ranveer Show” where he delivered his statements.
It’s worth mentioning that Kohli now has 75 international centuries to his name. The great hitter excelled in the fourth and final Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test against Australia. Kohli snapped his century drought in red-ball cricket with his 28th century. He scored 186 runs in the Ahmedabad Test and received accolades from all corners for his outstanding batting.
Virender Sehwag said that Virat Kohli’s early awareness of the value of discipline was a significant factor in the success he has enjoyed to date.
He mentioned that Virat Kohli has also benefited from the excellent competition with Rohit Sharma. The ex-cricketer said that many players debuted around 2008 but still needed to match Kohli’s success.
