Sanju Samson, captain of the Rajasthan Royals (RR), was dismissed cheaply against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match at Wankhede Stadium on Monday (April 1). The right-handed hitter went for 10 runs off 12 balls, allowing Mumbai to come back into the game.
The expulsion occurred in the fifth over of the Royals’ run chase. Akash Madhwal delivered a short delivery outside off, and Sanju attempted a drive but only managed a thick edge that hit the stumps. The right-hander did not use his feet correctly to complete the shot.

Sanju Samson’s Squad Sets Sights on Third Consecutive Win in IPL 2024
Sanju Samson may have failed with the bat, but he has led the Rajasthan Royals exceptionally effectively at the start of the IPL season. The Royals are on the verge of achieving a hat-trick of wins in the cash-rich competition after defeating LSG and DC by 20 and 12 runs, respectively. They will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday, April 6.
MI, on the other hand, are poised to lose their third game in a straight after losing to the Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad by six and 31 runs, respectively. They will face the Delhi Capitals in their next game on Sunday at the same stadium.
Mumbai scored 125/9 in their allotted 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Trent Boult dominated the top order, bowling Rohit Sharma, Dewald Brevis, and Naman Dhir for ducks.
Yuzvendra Chahal then dismissed skipper Hardik Pandya (34 off 21) and Tilak Varma (32 off 29). This happened after the duo contributed 56 runs to their partnership after MI were reduced to 20/4. Meanwhile, Nandre Burger also took two wickets.
