A short delivery, skillfully bowled by Sandeep Warrier, led to Prithvi Shaw’s dismissal in the IPL 2024 clash between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals. This occurred at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday (April 17). Prithvi Shaw’s brief innings of seven runs off six deliveries left the Capitals reeling at 31/2, chasing a modest total. Consequently, he squandered a prime chance to guide his team to victory.
The dismissal occurred in the third over of GT’s innings. Sandeep Warrier bowled a bumper and startled Prithvi Shaw with an effort ball. The right-hander attempted to evade the ball but left the bat hanging, ultimately lobbing a dolly to Spencer Johnson at short third base.

DC beat GT by six wickets in IPL 2024 clash
DC bowlers were highly impressive and accurate. They dismissed GT for just 89 runs in 17.3 overs. Rishabh Pant’s team won Wednesday’s IPL match convincingly.
GT opted to bat first but their batters struggled. Rashid Khan scored 31 off 24 balls, hitting one six and two fours. Sai Sudharsan and Rahul Tewatia also reached double figures. However, most batters failed to contribute meaningfully.
Mukesh Kumar shined with the ball for DC, ending with 3/14 in just 2.3 overs. Tristan Stubbs and Ishant Sharma took two wickets each.
Chasing 90, the Capitals reached the goal in 8.5 overs. Jake Fraser-McGurk, Abishek Porel, Shai Hope, and captain Rishabh Pant all contributed little but significantly to the victory.
Sandeep Warrier was GT’s highest wicket-taker, with two, while Rashid Khan and Spencer Johnson both had one.
In Delhi, the hosts will square off against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 20th. That game is at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Separately, Shubman Gill’s team battles Punjab Kings next. It happens on April 21st in Mullanpur.
