Rajasthan Royals’ bowler Sandeep Sharma took an important wicket when Mumbai Indians batted. Sandeep Sharma got rid of Suryakumar Yadav, who had been hitting the ball well in this year’s IPL. But Suryakumar mistimed one. It went straight to mid-on where Rovman Powell caught it easily.
The dismissal happened in the fourth over of the innings, when Sandeep Sharma delivered a scrambling seam ball to Suryakumar. The 33-year-old hitter attempted to flick it to the midwicket area but instead sliced it to mid-on. Powell, stationed at midfield, moved slightly forward to grab the ball.
It was also Ishan Kishan’s second wicket of the innings, as he was dismissed earlier by Sanju Samson following a clever DRS review.

Trent Boult removed Rohit Sharma again in the opening over of the session, skewed a skier, and Samson took a wonderful catch when Hardik Pandya elected to bat first.
Sandeep Sharma replaced Kuldeep Sen in Rajasthan Royals’ playing XI
Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya opted to bat first after winning the toss. The Royals hosted their final home match. Nuwan Thushara, Nehal Wadhera, Piyush Chawla replaced Akash Madhwal, Romario Shepherd, Shreyas Gopal for the visitors. Three changes were made by the Mumbai Indians.
Thushara is not in the XI and will play an impact role when Hardik Pandya and company bowl. The Royals, who are now top of the standings, made only one change: Sandeep Sharma replaced Kuldeep Sen.
That was the very same occasion when Wankhede saw their side beat Mumbai. Having the Mumbai Indians manage just 125 runs after batting first, the Wankhede lacked Test spirit, Rajasthan in 102.3 overs with four wickets to spare annihilated the target as Riyan Parag sailed higher, almost touching the heavens and giving an eyewash to the hapless home crowd unbeaten half-century.
The Mumbai Indians sorely need a win in Jaipur to be in contention with a top-four finish in the IPL 2024.
