Former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma seemed clearly stunned after a fan broke through security and entered the pitch. The event occurred during Mumbai’s Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Monday, April 1.
A spectator ran onto the field during Rajasthan’s pursuit innings. Rohit Sharma, who was standing at slips, looked astonished to see the fan so near to him. The intruder was seen embracing Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan before being removed from the scene by security authorities.

Rohit Sharma Out for Golden Duck in IPL 2024 Clash Against RR
The encounter versus Rajasthan was Mumbai’s first home game of the season. The Hardik Pandya-led side’s season has began disastrously, with defeats in their first two games.
Trent Boult, Rajasthan’s left-arm bowler, dashed Mumbai’s dreams of a turnaround at Wankhede. The Kiwi seamer knocked Rohit Sharma for a golden duck in the game’s first over.
Rohit Sharma died while attempting to defend a length ball outside the off stump. But he was undone by the distant moment. The ball hit the outer edge of his bat, and keeper Sanju Samson made an excellent grab.
To make matters worse, Mumbai lost four wickets during the powerplay. In addition to Rohit Sharma, Boult sent back Naman Dhir and Dewald Brevis for golden ducks.
Mumbai ended on 125/9 after 20 overs. The home team’s highest batting performers were Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma, who scored 34 and 32, respectively. Rajasthan’s Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal each took three wickets.
RR subsequently knocked down the score in 15.3 overs and won by six wickets.
