Rohit produced 131 and 86 in his subsequent two innings against Afghanistan and Pakistan, respectively, after going for a duck against Australia in Chennai. He nearly single-handedly batted the opponents out of the game. India continues to lead the points table thanks to his strong play.
Quinton de Kock Climbs to No. 3 batters in ICC ODI Rankings
Quinton de Kock, the South African opener, has risen in the ICC ODI Rankings for batsmen as a result of scoring back-to-back hundreds in his opening two World Cup matches against Sri Lanka and Australia. Rassie van der Dussen, a fellow countryman, was passed by the southpaw, who is now in third place with 742 rating points.
Virat Kohli scored 16 against Pakistan, but one of India’s star batters, maintains a joint eighth position in the ICC ODI Rankings with 711 rating points. KL Rahul, who played an unbeaten knock against Pakistan, has climbed to the 19th spot among batters in the rankings with 635 rating points.
Trent Boult of New Zealand has cut the lead he shares with Josh Hazlewood of Australia among bowlers to just one point following a strong performance against Bangladesh. With 659 rating points, Boult is in second place and will attempt to pass Josh Hazlewood shortly.
