Rohit Sharma, Team India’s leader, has been seen pushing hard in practice for the forthcoming second Test match in Cape Town against South Africa. The Indian team went through a distressing defeat in just three days at the SuperSport Park in Centurion during the series’ first Test.
In the batting zone, Rohit Sharma did not do so well. He scored low, just 5 (14) and 0 (8) in two rounds. South African superstar bowler Kagiso Rabada took him out both times.
In order to prevent a clean sweep, India must win the second Test against the opposition, which is scheduled to begin in Cape Town on January 3. After a lackluster performance this week, Sharma decided to toil away in the Centurion nets in order to acclimate to the tempo, bounce, and other conditions in the nation prior to the match.

“Kagiso Rabada has Rohit Sharma’s number”- Aakash Chopra
Ex-Indian lead-off batter, Aakash Chopra, made a recent remark. It was about Kagiso Rabada, the primary bowler for South Africa, having an edge on Rohit Sharma in Test Cricket. Sharma, who leads India, got dismissed 8 times by Rabada in only 12 rounds.
Aakash Chopra clarified Rohit’s issues with Rabada in a video that he posted on his YouTube channel, saying:
“Kagiso Rabada has Rohit Sharma’s number in his back pocket, it seems like that. He has dismissed him so many times and got him out here as well. It was with a bouncer in the previous innings and it was a very good ball in this innings. It pitched and went away and hit the top of off and Rohit Sharma was out at the start.”

On the young batters in the line-up, Aakash Chopra added:
“Yashasvi Jaiswal got out at the other end. It was like an almost unplayable delivery. Then Shubman Gill came and hit a few fours for sure, but then he also got out. For the prince to become the king, he has to walk the tightrope. He has to perform well outside India. Then Shreyas Iyer, the way he plays, it seems like he is not yet fully ready to perform in SENA countries. He plays very well in ODIs. I feel he will play ODI cricket well anywhere.”
