Recently, India’s cricket leader, Rohit Sharma, celebrated his daughter Samaira’s special day. His wife, Ritika Sajdeh, and their pals were by their side. Samaira Sharma, born on the last day of 2018 in Mumbai, turns five today (Saturday).
Rohit’s at present in South Africa guiding the Indian team in a 2-Test match series. India sadly fell short in the first Test at Centurion, losing by an innings and 32 runs. This loss dashed their hopes for a historic series win in South Africa.
In the match, Rohit’s performance at the crease was less than stellar. His scores? 5 (14) and 0 (8) in two innings. Rohit and his team are keen to do better and give a stronger display in the following Test.
An enthusiast shared a peek into Rohit Sharma’s private life, off the cricket field, via a video on X (previously Twitter). The clip shows Rohit in high spirits, joyously marking his daughter Samaira’s birthday along with family and buddies.

Rohit Sharma admits India can learn from South Africa’s bowling after Boxing Day Test defeat
Speaking at the post-match news conference following the first Test, Rohit Sharma said that his bowling unit’s failure to execute in accordance with the circumstances led to them giving up far too many runs on a challenging surface.
He made the observation that although Jasprit Bumrah bowled brilliantly, the other pacers did not help him. Rohit held back from criticizing the bowlers too much, though, and expressed his hope that they will see their flaws and work on them moving ahead.
According to Rohit Sharma:
“The way the wicket was behaving, we conceded a lot of runs. It happens. We can’t depend on just one bowler. It’s important that the other three bowlers also do well. The way the opposition bowled, there’s a lot to learn from that.”

“Bumrah bowled well. All he wanted was a bit of support from the other end, which he didn’t get. That happens. All the other three bowlers were trying very hard, bending their backs, but it just didn’t work out. It didn’t happen the way we would’ve wanted to. But again, games like these teach what you need to do as a bowling group. Hopefully, they understand what went wrong and try and come back stronger in the next game.”
