Rohit Sharma at the helm of Team India displayed great excitement as Hardik Pandya secured the initial breakthrough in the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 faceoff against Bangladesh in Antigua. A widely circulated video caught the 37yearold expressing his emotions using colorful language immediately after witnessing Suryakumar Yadavs stunning catch.
Litton Das, Bangladesh’s opener, was dismissed in the fourth over of the match on Saturday, June 22. The right-hander sent Pandya’s somewhat short-pitched delivery over the midwicket fence. The 30-year-old all-rounder made a remarkable comeback by slowing it down, and Das repeated the shot. However, he holed out to the mid-wicket fielder, and Suryakumar Yadav sprinted in to make a stunning catch.

When it comes to his performance with the bat Rohit Sharma seems to be experiencing a drought in terms of significant scores except for his halfcentury against Ireland in the opening fixture. His knock consisted of three boundaries and a massive six which sailed 97 meters off Shakib Al Hasan.
Virat Kohli also scored his highest score of the tournament, 37 off 28 deliveries, while Rishabh Pant provided the Men in Blue a boost with a 24-ball 36. Hardik Pandya stood out as the best batter, striking an unbeaten 50 off 27 balls. The all-rounder also shared a 53-run stand with Shivam Dube, who hit three maximums in 34 balls.
India finally defeated Bangladesh handily, with Kuldeep Yadav emerging as the standout bowler with scores of 4-0-19-3. Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah both finished with two, while Hardik Pandya had one.
