Team India’s skipper Rohit Sharma expressed he’d avoid sharing a room with Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan. Why? They lack tidiness skills. Sharma’s blunt assertion came during his recent Netflix appearance on Kapil Sharma’s comedy show, alongside teammate Shreyas Iyer. The duo’s episode recently aired.
In a unique segment of the show, the host asked Rohit which player he would never want to share his room with. The Indian skipper selected two – Dhawan and Pant. When asked why he chose the combo, Rohit explained (translated from Hindi):
IPL 2024 has Rohit, Pant, Dhawan, Shreyas featuring. Though Rohit isn’t captain for Mumbai Indians anymore, Pant leads Delhi Capitals. Shreyas is in charge of Kolkata Knight Riders. And, Dhawan captains Punjab Kings.
Rohit Sharma starred in MI’s win over DC on Sunday
Rohit was Mumbai Indians’ star batsman during their 29-run victory over Delhi Capitals at Wankhede in Mumbai on April 7. After being inserted to bat first, MI amassed 234-5 across their allotted 20 overs.
Opening batter Rohit scored a blistering 49 runs off just 27 deliveries, smashing six boundaries and three sixes. Though on course for a half-century, he was undone by Axar Patel’s deceiving delivery. Prior to that, Rohit featured in an 80-run opening partnership with Ishan Kishan, who himself scored a quick-fire 42 off 23 balls.
Skipper Hardik Pandya was bowled for 39 off 33, but Tim David stayed undefeated on 45 off 21, while Romario Shepherd smashed 39* off 10, including three fours and four sixes.
DC were limited to 205-8 in their pursuit, with Gerald Coetzee scoring 4-34 and Jasprit Bumrah adding 2-22.
