Rohit Sharma was seen urging supporters to stop booing during the IPL 2024 match between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Monday (April 1). It was MI’s first home game this season at Wankhede Stadium.
The home team fans were not happy. They yelled and shouted to show anger. The team management had removed Rohit Sharma. They had made Hardik Pandya the new captain. From very early, during the coin toss, the crowd at the stadium booed Hardik.
The audience did the same thing in the second innings, when Rohit Sharma was fielding close the boundary. The former MI captain then asked them to cease booing with hand signals. A few X users provided a glimpse of it by posting videos on the social media network.

After being selected to bat first on a challenging surface, the Mumbai Indians’ top-order capitulated to Trent Boult’s fantastic swing bowling stint with the new ball, with Rohit Sharma, Naman Dhir, and Dewald Brevis departing for golden ducks.
Hardik Pandya (34) and Tilak Varma (32) steadied matters with a 56-run combination but were unable to convert their starts, limiting MI’s prospects of achieving a high total. As a result, the hosts only managed 125/9 in the first innings.
Akash Madhwal then took three wickets to give Mumbai Indians hope in the second innings. However, Riyan Parag (54*) scored a superb half-century to complete the chase in the 16th over.
