When Team India’s wicketkeeper-battler Jitesh Sharma lost his wicket in Sunday’s second Twenty20 International match against Afghanistan in Indore, Rohan Gavaskar thinks he would be unhappy in himself.
Rohan Gavaskar noted that Jitesh didn’t need to try to boost the ante because Shivam Dube was already securely positioned at the crease. As Jitesh attempted to play an offensive shot, he was out after scoring a two-ball duck.
Rohan Gavaskar discussed the dismissal with Cricbuzz, saying:
India defeated Afghanistan with ease, taking six wickets in the process and managing to chase down the 173-run total in just the 16th over. Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal were the two standout batsmen, batting 68 and 63*, respectively.
Rohan Gavaskar urges India to rest Shivam Dube and give chances to other players in third T20I
The last T20I game between India and Afghanistan won’t change the series outcome. India, having two wins already, has claimed the series.
According to Rohan Gavaskar, the Men in Blue have to think about resting Shivam Dube for the match in order to allow players like Sanju Samson and Avesh Khan more opportunities.
Rohan Gavaskar Added:
India and Afghanistan will face off in the third T20I at Bengaluru’s M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. It’s happening this coming Wednesday, January 17.
