In the current Indian Premier League (IPL), Rajasthan Royals (RR) hitter Riyan Parag extended his winning run at bat against Mumbai Indians (MI). The right-handed batsman hit three and maybe even five sixes in an innings that saw him hammer home an undefeated 54 runs off 39 balls. As a result, on Monday, April 1, he led the Royals to victory over MI by six wickets at Wankhede Stadium with 27 balls remaining.

In just three games, Riyan Parag achieved his second fifty of the year when he hit back-to-back sixes against Gerald Coetzee at mid-wicket and cover. He also struck the boundary that won the match.

Before, against Delhi Capitals (DC), Riyan Parag hit an undefeated 84 off 45 balls. He was retained for INR 3.8 crore. In addition, the 22-year-old made 43 runs off of 27 deliveries against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Both games were won by the Royals, 20 and 12 runs, respectively.

A brilliant all-round performance helped RR defeat MI and secure a hat-trick of victories in IPL 2024. They are now located at the top of the points table.

MI, captained by Hardik Pandya, lost their third consecutive match. In their first two games, they fell to the Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by six and 31 runs, respectively.

On Monday, RR restricted MI to 125/9 after choosing to bowl first. Trent Boult sent back Rohit Sharma, Dewald Brevis, and Naman Dhir as golden ducks to inflict early damage.

Yuzvendra Chahal then ended the 56-run partnership between Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma. He removed both of them, as RR dominated MI’s hitting lineup. Nandre Burger took two wickets, while Avesh Khan took only one.

In response, the Royals reached their goal in 15.3 overs. Ravichandran Ashwin, Yashavi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, and skipper Sanju Samson had brief contributions.

Akash Madhwal shined with the ball for Mumbai, finishing with 3/20, while Kwena Maphaka claimed the valuable scalp of Yashavi Jaiswal.
