CEO of GMR Sports, PKSV Sagar, feels positive. He thinks Rishabh Pant, Delhi Capitals (DC) captain, will be back to health for the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). Sagar says Pant, who both keeps and bats, is on the mend nicely.
After being into a terrifying vehicle accident in December 2022, Rishabh Pant, 26, has not played cricket. Unverified rumors suggest that the aggressive batter could return for the 2024 Indian Premier League.
The CEO of GMR Sports, which shares ownership of the Delhi Capitals team, Sagar, spoke with news agency ANI about Pant’s recuperation process and made the following observations:
Last year, Rishabh Pant joined the Delhi Capitals’ training camp in Kolkata. Sourav Ganguly (director of cricket), Ricky Ponting (head coach), and Pravin Amre (assistant coach) were there too. Later, Pant attended the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai.
Rishabh Pant, a lefty, has played in 98 IPL games. He’s scored 2,838 runs with an average of 34.61. His strike rate is 147.97. He’s hit one hundred and 15 fifties.
Rishabh Pant was recently chatting with the Indian team. This was before their third T20I against Afghanistan in Bengaluru. He’s now recovering at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
Rishabh Pant unlikely to make T20 World Cup squad, says Zaheer Khan
Several cricket authorities believe Rishabh Pant could join the 2024 World Cup’s Indian team if he returns to the IPL and does well. But, ex-India speedster Zaheer Khan thinks the Men in Blue leaders may not share this view.
Rishabh Pant has scored 2,271, 865, and 987 runs in 33 Tests, 30 ODIs, and 66 T20Is thus far.
