Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Rishabh Pant has made some questionable DRS review decisions in the past, but he got it right in Friday’s IPL 2024 encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to send back his opposite number KL Rahul.
Rahul attempted to cut a faster delivery from Kuldeep Yadav behind point, but Pant responded quickly, and the latter was certain that the LSG skipper had edged the ball. While the on-field umpire ruled it not out, he had to reconsider his ruling since the Ultra Edge indicated a definite spike.
Here’s a video of a wonderful critique by Rishabh Pant:
KL Rahul looked brilliant as he raced to 39 runs off only 21 balls, helping LSG to an above-par total, especially with wickets dropping at the other end. It may be a game-defining moment for the Capitals.

LSG chose to bat first. But their innings did not go well. They kept losing wickets at bad times. Only KL Rahul looked good. No other batsman scored big. They did not show desire to stay at the crease for long early on.
Kuldeep Yadav returned to the team and immediately demonstrated his talent, scoring 3/20. Aside from Rahul, Kuldeep also dispatched the dangerous Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran with successive deliveries. At one point, it appeared like the hosts would not even bat their whole 20-over limit.
However, a half-century from Ayush Badoni resulted in an impressive turnaround for LSG, who have set a target of 168 for the Capitals. The visiting must start well in their hunt because they are without some experienced players owing to injury.
