Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant joined the team’s training camp Wednesday (March 13). Pant has been sidelined for around 14 months after sustaining serious injuries in a car crash in December 2022. He’s set to begin preparing for the upcoming IPL 2024 season. The youngster’s return brings joy to fans. His presence boosts DC’s morale and hopes for a successful campaign.
Rishabh underwent rigorous recovery and rehab at the NCA over the past year. Recently, he got clearance from the BCCI medical crew to return to action. The left-hander will make his comeback by captaining the DC squad in IPL 2024.

The Delhi team shared news about Rishabh Pant joining their group. A video posted on Instagram showed Pant’s arrival. The caption said:

Rishabh Pant Expresses Desire to Re-experience On-Field Action

Pant, who talked to Times of India not long ago, revealed that he too encountered the mental strife during the same period of recovery, after the car accident which had happened about 14 months ago. Pant said:
“I was sad because I was going through a very good time. But I had to ensure I didn’t pity myself. That’s how I was keeping myself sane. I don’t want to think that I am taking a fresh guard or I am making my debut all over again or I just had a break. I just want to feel how it is to be on the ground again. I need that feeling from within that I am just continuing with my career.”

Looking forward to his comeback in IPL, Rishabh Pant added:
“We will see when we get to March 23 (Delhi Capitals’ first match). I also don’t know how to react. I don’t know what kind of feeling it will be. I am trying to enjoy this. I don’t want to stress too much. I try not to get too much ahead of myself but I do think about the possibilities — both positive and negative. I try to filter that and keep working with a positive mindset.”
