Ravindra Jadeja the dynamic allrounder of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) found himself given out for impeding the play against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Sunday May 9. The crucial IPL 2024 encounter unfolded at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
In the fifth ball of the 16th over, Ravindra Jadeja guided Avesh Khan’s short-pitched delivery to third-man. Although Ruturaj Gaikwad was uninterested in the second run, the all-rounder was halfway down the pitch and had to return shortly as wicketkeeper Sanju Samson caught the ball.
Samson threw the ball towards the non-striker’s end, but it sadly struck Ravindra Jadeja, prompting the RR captain to appeal to the umpire. The verdict was sent upstairs, and the third umpire determined that Jadeja was aware of the ball’s path and blocking the field.
