Ravichandran Ashwin recently spoke out about the devastation caused by Cyclone Michaung in Tamil Nadu. The renowned Indian cricketer said that there was a power outage in his neighborhood for more than 30 hours as the floods continued to disrupt regular daily life.
Chennai faced a flood just days after Cyclone Michaung. This cyclone caused lots of rain. The water got so high it was dangerous. Sadly, we’re told 17 people lost their lives in this natural disaster.
The cops state that 10 cases of drowning and electric shock came up. The SDRF and NDRF have been stationed in the area to help and save those in need.
The Indian Meteorological Department verified, much to Chennai’s relief, that the cyclone had diminished into a deep depression over Andra Pradesh’s central coast.
Throughout the continuing natural calamity, Ashwin has been active on social media, urging people to keep safe home.
Ashwin posted photos of flooded automobiles in Chennai on X (previously known as Twitter) and wrote:
Ravichandran Ashwin has been named to India’s Test team for the upcoming two Tests against South Africa. The first Test will be played at Centurion on December 26.
Despite participating in the 2023 World Cup and playing a single game against Australia, the off-spinner did not make India’s selection for three ODIs.
