It was on Wednesday, January 10, when Ravichandran Ashwin cleverly replied to a fan’s question. The inquiry? When he will return to play for Chennai Super Kings.
His suggestion? To direct the question to the CSK captain MS Dhoni. His response occurred as he uploaded a photo of himself at his athlete’s starting point, the Madras Cricket Club.

The title of Ashwin’s Instagram post said:
“Where I came from”
A user replied:
“When do we see you in yellow”
Ashwin replied (as translated from Tamil):
“Should ask annan (elder brother) Dhoni only.”

Ashwin played for CSK from 2008 until 2015, for those who are unaware. In 97 games, he claimed 90 wickets at an economy rate of 6.46. His performance for the Super Kings secured him a spot on Team India prior to demonstrating his abilities on the global arena.
Post that, Ashwin rotated teams like Rising Pune Supergiants, Punjab Kings, and Rajasthan Royals. The RR team based in Jaipur decided to retain him for the IPL 2024 season.
“Not a captain, he is a director” – Ravichandran Ashwin on MS Dhoni

Using Suresh Raina as an example, Ravichandran Ashwin recently praised MS Dhoni, calling him a successful film director. On his YouTube channel, he stated:
“Dhoni is not a captain. He is a director. He is actually a very, very good movie director like he is a director for the game. What does a movie director do? He picks characters, and he picks the exact cast for that character.”

Ravichandran Ashwin added:
“So, I think Dhoni, in his head, he picks a character, he knows where the character fits, who is the person for the character and gives that person the exact situation to play his role to the tee. That’s what I think he did with Suresh Raina (in the 2011 ODI World Cup).”

Ashwin, a pro player, will meet England next. They’re headed for a five-match Test series. This event kicks off at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. It begins on January 25.
