Ex-India coach Ravi Shastri thinks Gujarat Titans (GT) will be the strongest team in IPL 2023 and may win two titles in a row.

The Titans have only lost three of their nine games this season and now lead the table with 12 points. Shastri emphasised how Gujarat just finds various players who raise their hands and help their team out of trouble anytime they are in difficulties.

Ravi Shastri spoke to Star Sports before the game between the Gujarat Titans and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) regarding GT’s season thus far:

“Looking at the current form and team standings, I believe that Gujarat will win the trophy. There is consistency and flexibility in this team and there are seven-eight players who are performing consistently. The players in this Gujarat side complement each other.”

Ravi Shastri also praised RR captain Sanju Samson for his leadership thus far in the tournament. Last season, Samson guided the Royals to the final, and there’s a good possibility that success will be repeated this season.

Shastri revealed how Samson switches his top spinners Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravichandran Ashwin, and even Adam Zampa when the three play together. In response, he stated:

“Sanju Samson has matured as a captain. He uses his spinners very well. Only a good captain can play with three spinners and use them smartly.
