It was a sad day for Prasidh Krishna, and his fans as the Indian pacer has been ruled out of the 2023 IPL due to a stress fracture. He last played a competitive game in August 2022 and has since been recuperating. Krishna would not be able to participate in the tournament due to the stress fracture and the following rehabilitation process. The Rajasthan Royals announced the news.
Prasidh Krishna has been battling his back injury for the last couple of months, undergoing multiple surgeries and treatments. Krishna will take time off to focus on recovering and rehabilitating his body as recommended by his doctors. The injury will require him to take a break from cricket and focus on his recovery. The Royal family wishes the fastest of recoveries to the bowler and hopes to see him soon in good health! Additionally, Rajasthan Royals’ coaching staff has been prospecting and refining aspiring pacers through training sessions and camps and is eager to observe their advancement. The Royals have invested heavily in Krishna since signing him in February 2022, which is a huge setback for them.
Krishna’s absence will be an especially hard blow to the Royals after outstanding performances in the previous tournament. He was one of their star players, taking 19 wickets in only 17 IPL innings. He had taken a remarkable 25 wickets from 14 One Day Internationals (ODIs) before becoming injured, with an economy of under 5.50 (5.32) and an average of under 24 runs per wicket (23.92). Everyone hopes Krishna can recover, return to full fitness, and be back in form soon!
